Academic Calendar for Indian Schools in UAE: 2025–26 Schedule

Indian curriculum schools in the UAE, including CBSE and ICSE institutions, follow an April-to-March academic year. This calendar is quite different from the September-start model followed by many international schools in the region.
Knowing the academic calendar in advance is crucial for parents and students; it helps in planning family travel, tuition schedules, extracurricular activities, and exam preparations without last-minute stress.
The 2025–26 school year comes with clearly defined terms, holidays, and exam timelines as per guidelines from the UAE Ministry of Education and KHDA.
While dates may vary slightly between individual schools, the structure remains consistent across most Indian curriculum institutions in the Emirates.
The academic year for Indian schools in the UAE will begin on Monday, 7 April 2025, and end between 18 to 20 March 2026. The school year is divided into three main terms, with breaks in between for summer, winter, and spring.
According to UAE regulations, all Indian schools must complete a minimum of 182 instructional days.
In addition to term breaks, schools also remain closed for UAE public holidays such as Eid, National Day, and the Prophet’s Birthday. These holidays follow the lunar calendar and are confirmed closer to their respective dates.

This academic calendar allows families to plan travel during breaks, schedule tuition sessions in advance, and support their child’s studies around term transitions. It also helps in preparing for key academic milestones such as final exams, project submissions, and internal assessments.
Whether your child is entering a new grade or preparing for board exams, staying aligned with the school calendar ensures a more organised academic year.
When you know the school calendar in advance, it becomes easier to plan everything else around it—family trips, tuition classes, or even just keeping your child’s routine on track.
In the UAE, schools follow two different academic calendars depending on the curriculum they follow.
