How to Calculate Your Kerala SSLC Percentage from Grades

Education Minister V. Sivankutty confirmed that the Kerala SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) Exam Results for 2025 are scheduled to be announced on May 9.
While the Kerala SSLC marks card doesn't display individual subject marks or your overall percentage, you can still estimate your percentage using the grades you received. Here’s how:
To calculate your estimated percentage, you’ll use the following formula:
Estimated Percentage = (Sum of Grade Points × Midpoint Value for Each Grade) ÷ 10 |
Each grade has a midpoint value that is used for the calculation:
If a student has the following grades:
The calculation would be:
Estimated Percentage = ((5 × 95) + (2 × 85) + (1 × 75) + (2 × 65)) ÷ 10
Estimated Percentage = (475 + 170 + 75 + 130) ÷ 10
Estimated Percentage = 850 ÷ 10 = 85%
So, the estimated percentage would be 85%.
Your estimated percentage is an important factor for your future educational goals, including college admissions and entrance exams. Understanding how to calculate it accurately can give you a better idea of your performance and help you prepare for the next steps.

To convert your grades to percentage, use the formula: Estimated Percentage = (Sum of Grade Points × Midpoint Value for Each Grade) ÷ 10
Add the grade points of all subjects, multiply by the midpoint value for each grade, then divide by 10 to get your estimated percentage.
You need at least a D+ grade (3 grade points) in each subject to pass. Students scoring below this need to appear for the SAY (Save A Year) exam.
The SSLC marks card only shows the grade you received in each subject. It does not show individual subject marks or ranks.
The estimated percentage is based on the midpoint values for each grade. While it's a reliable approximation, it may not exactly match the official percentage calculated by the Kerala Board.
